Blister machines are automatic, semi-automatic or manual machines suitable for horizontal packaging of mainly pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, cosmetic and food products. The blister formed by this machine is composed of: a lower part that can be PVC, PVDC or aluminium, which is hot or cold formed with the desired shape (depending on the product) and an upper part that is coupled and welded on the bottom after the insertion of the product (tablets, syringes, capsules ...). The upper part, usually made of aluminium or paper, is previously printed (with a flexographic printer for aluminium, for example). Especially in the pharmaceutical sector, the top of the blisters is stamped with the information of the medicine, the name of the manufacturer and the expiring date. The main components of the blister packers are: PVC, PVDC or aluminium forming station, product feeding system, welding station, blister coding station, blister cutting station according to the required dimensions. Each blister corresponds to a format (forming and cutting formats). We can also find on some blister machines options such as: cameras to detect the presence of the product inside the blister, for detection of broken tablets, for checking the integrity of the blister, automatic rejection device for non-compliant blisters, sensor for centering the blister, pre-arrangement to work together with the cartoner, etc..
